THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
Inserted in one of the oldest neighborhood of Lisbon, it was on the Hill of Satana where died the 16th century poet Luiz Vaz de Camões (Calçada de Santana, nº 139) and here was born the great Diva of fado: Amália Rodrigues.
Campo Mártires da Pátria is the top of Lisbon's 5th hill, Santana Hill which has its base, Martim Moniz, O Rossio, Av. Freedom The main feature of Pena is that it is a plateau, from which two main slopes descend, facing Martin Moniz and Avenida da Liberdade. This whole area was practically devastated by the 1755 earthquake and then rebuilt. Walking between streets and alleys, we come across palaces, the Convent of the Incarnation, rich churches, places of rare beauty such as the Torel Viewpoint that live happily with the more or less modest residences of our Lisboners. Buildings that have been happening over the centuries to the present day.
