## Emplacement
Saint-Tropez, a commune in the Var region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, became a vacation spot for the world's jet set during the New Wave era of the 1960s. This former 16th-century citadel, which was still a small fishing village at the beginning of the 20th century, attracts stars from all over the world in search of the authenticity typical of Provence.
St-Trop', as it's colloquially known by locals, appeals to sea lovers, history buffs and those looking for a good time. The gentle pace of life and world-renowned entertainment have also contributed to the reputation of this magical place.
The sea, the boats, the architectural and historical heritage make it a little paradise, as does its much-appreciated gastronomy. From wines to fish dishes and confectionery, Saint-Tropez offers a wide range of sweet treats. The most famous is the famous tarte tropézienne, a cake made from sugar brioche. It was invented during the filming of Et Dieu... créa la femme, to please Brigitte Bardot, the town's great ambassador.
