The people of Weißenstadt want to preserve their listed old town with its unique barns and rock cellars for future generations and have therefore decided to redevelop the town. Weißenstadt is located away from major transport routes. Neither motorways nor main roads run through the municipal area. The nearest motorway junctions to the A 9 Nuremberg-Hof-Berlin are approx. 15 km away at Gefrees and Münchberg. The nearest junction to the A 93 Regensburg-Weiden-Hof motorway is also approx. 15 km away at Thiersheim.
