Waldkirchen is a charming base in the southern Bavarian Forest, perfect for nature lovers and families. Trails lead from the house to forests, meadows and the scenic Saußbachklamm gorge. In winter, the area offers cross-country ski trails, sledding hills and small ski resorts. Families enjoy nature playgrounds, wildlife parks and swimming pools. Excursions worth taking include the treetop trail in the national park, the glass centre in Spiegelau, Finsterau’s open-air museum, Passau, and the Czech town of Krumau
