Welcome to My Home

I live here more than ten months a year, but when I am away, I decided to open my home to guests who might love the atmosphere – full of colors, paintings, books, and (also old) ceramics.

I am a yoga and meditation teacher, believe in angels, and love painting, writing, making ceramics, and collecting old objects. My home reflects all of this: spirit and matter.

People who enter my home often say it has a very special energy. Maybe it’s something for you too? Perhaps you can sense a little of it from the photos.

About the Apartment

There are two small bedrooms (each with a single bed), one bathroom, and a very large living area with a kitchen.

If you like, you can move the sofa bed from the living room into one of the bedrooms to create a sort of double bed. If I’m not there, my son, who lives in the same stairwell, can help you with this small rearrangement or anything else you need – perhaps even with tips on where to eat or drink traditionally in Frankfurt, such as trying Apfelwein. My apartment is located in the center of one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Frankfurt: Bornheim.

If desired, there is an Indian mat that can be used as a sleeping pad on the floor so that a child can lie comfortably. I am happy when children visit. At the same time, it is important to me that they handle the items in the apartment carefully. The apartment is not specifically childproof or child-friendly.

Back to the home: From the living room (and one of the bedrooms), you can access a large L-shaped terrace facing southeast. From the terrace (and from the kitchen/living area), you can enjoy the very first rays of the sun rising over the rooftops. At night, I often sleep outside under the starry sky, and perhaps you can too.

As an Italian in Germany, I always dreamed of finding a large terrace, and this one is by far bigger than anything I could have wished for. There are different corners for eating, reading, writing, and relaxing.

Most of the terrace faces the inner courtyard, allowing you to enjoy peace and quiet.
The apartment is on the third floor of a building with a large elevator, in a residence that Germans call “luxury.” One could debate the term, but the building is relatively new, completed in July 2016.

This is a lived-in, soulful place, full of my paintings and little treasures.
To enjoy it, you’ll need a bit of care, a gentle touch — and the cheerful patience to wander lovingly among my things.

What You Will Find in the Area

You can reach the U4 station “Bornheim Mitte” in just 4–6 minutes on foot. From there, the line takes you directly to the central station, the Messe, and the city center (Konstablerwache, Dom/Römer, Willy-Brandt-Platz).

In just one minute on foot, you can reach Bergerstraße, with great restaurants and shops.

In five minutes, you reach the beautiful Günthersburgpark – there is a fantastic playground, and in summer also water play areas. Everything is set amidst greenery. Really beautiful and relaxing: you can grab a drink or a snack at a kiosk in the park next to the playground.

If you want to swim or relax, it takes about 10–12 minutes to reach Bornheimer Bad, near the ice skating rink.

Through Günthersburgpark, Bornheimer Cemetery, and Hutpark (all lovely destinations in themselves), you can reach the wonderful Lohrberg, a hill park with panoramic views of Frankfurt.

On Bornheimer Platz, next to an old stone tap, you can enjoy a good American-style coffee at one of the city’s historic cafés: Wacker. They also offer freshly ground coffee in a great blend.
