Explore the protected area with its rocky coastline, wetlands, forests, olive trees and flower-filled valleys. The largest coastal towns on the peninsula are Vieste and Peschici, which are characterized by narrow streets with limestone houses. The prehistoric Foresta Umbra, a remnant of the original forest of the Gargano peninsula, is a paradise for active vacationers with its numerous hiking and cycling trails.
