Within a radius of 5 km you will find many different beaches where you can enjoy the warm Croatian sun. Nearby is the harbor where you can rent a boat to visit the islands in the region. Lungomare is also a wonderful way to get to know the region. The 12 km long Lungomare coastal promenade is particularly popular with guests in Opatija. The promenade is 100 years old, romantic and relaxing, far from the traffic and hustle and bustle of the city. Along the promenade there are numerous monuments in honor of notable personalities who have visited Opatija: the writer Henryk Sienkiewicz, the doctor Theodor Billroth, the general Jozef Pilsudski, etc. Volosko is also a must-see - once a fishing village, today a charming seaside town known for its numerous restaurants and a wonderful view of the sea.
