Plau am See is not only a climatic health resort, but also an extremely attractive town with a historic old town and many great restaurants serving regional cuisine. There are also sights worth seeing, such as the Plau castle tower from 1449 with its deep dungeon and narrow ascent, the well-known lift bridge from 1916 and the town church from the 13th century, which can be seen from afar.
