From the residential area you can walk to the small center of Camaiore with narrow streets and good trattorias. The endless, white sandy beaches of the long coast promise carefree days by the sea. Visit the elegant, colorful market in Forte dei Marmi, the popular posh town, on Wednesdays. On an open-air stage by the lake in Torre del Lage, famous opera performances by Puccini take place in July and August. A detour to Carrara to see the white marble quarries is definitely recommended. A trip to the island of Elba is also interesting (approx. 139 km to Piombino and 1 hour ferry crossing).
