The small holiday home is idyllically located in the countryside in Oybin, a small health resort in the district of Görlitz. You are only 200 meters from the bakery and shops, so you can always enjoy fresh bread rolls in the morning before you start an eventful day of vacation. When the weather is nice, you can relax on the glassed-in terrace and enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains. Oybin is the only German town on the south side of the Zittau Mountains on the Czech border. This is also the terminus of the steam-powered Zittau narrow-gauge railway. You can find groceries and souvenirs in the town, and for larger purchases, a short trip to Zittau is a good option. There are several restaurants where you can enjoy typical Saxon and Upper Lusatian cuisine, but you can also try hearty Bohemian dishes. Activities nearby: In summer, cycling, hiking and Nordic walking are available, while in winter the area also offers great cross-country skiing opportunities. Due to the often gentle gradients, which nevertheless offer wonderful views, the Zittau Mountains are very popular with hiking beginners and people with less fitness. Sights: the baroque mountain church built in 1734, the monastery and castle ruins with museum and camera obscura, the trains of the Celestine monks at the castle ruins, the half-timbered houses and the devil's mill as well as the Oybin train station with a small museum on the history of the Zittau narrow-gauge railway.
