It began in 1813 with the permission of the Grand Duke of Oldenburg in Oldenburg and the then supreme ruler, the Danish king Frederik 7, at the same time Duke of Holstein, set up a bathing establishment in Haffkrug. Haffkrug, today a district of Scharbeutz, lies with its long sandy beach, in the heart of the Bay of Lübeck. The Holstein Switzerland, as well as the Queen of the Hanse Lübeck, are within easy reach. Look forward to a varied landscape and surroundings.
