Our forester's lodge is located in the Tiergarten of the Sportschloss Velen. Where once princes and nobles strolled, you live in the beautiful apartment. The historic building dates back to the 16th century. Century. It has been renovated by the owners with great attention to detail and taking into account the preservation of monuments in a 2-year construction period to a house with an exceptional ambience with great attention to detail.
A picturesque environment and fantastic views from the apartment and from the two terraces will delight you. An absolute must for nature lovers. With a little luck you will see the roe deer grazing on the adjacent, very large orchard in the morning and in the evening. The apartment is ideal for guests who like to cycle or hike in their free time.
In our beautiful Westphalian landscape, you will find a well-developed cycle path network with themed cycle paths, such as the 100 Castles Route, the Agri-Cultura-Fiets Cycle Path or the route along the Bocholter Aa to Anholt Castle.
Likewise walkers and hikers will find a paradise on our doorstep. A few meters from our house leads the Jacobspilgerweg over.
Equally interesting for hikers is the walk along the Aa Cycle Path to Wasserburg in Gemen, which is about 10 km away, or to the region of the Borken Mountains.
Scenic is also the former bog and marsh area towards Reken and Hochmoor, which is only a short distance from the Tiergarten.
Let yourself be surprised. Free parking is available directly at the Forsthaus. We keep at the cottage two bicycles ready for you. If you prefer electric bikes, we can provide them with a timely order for a small fee.

We consciously do without a TV because we want to give you total relaxation and time for yourself.
