Apartment

Our apartment Mientje is located in a typically East Frisian Wallheckenlandschaft, just outside the center of Hesel, but conveniently located and centrally located in East Frisia. The Heseler forest is the largest contiguous forest area in East Frisia and is about 800m away. Sufficient shops (Netto, Lidl, Aldi, Combi and Rossmann) are located about 700m away. Hesel has a well-developed network of cycle paths and is marked according to the nodal point system. Mientje is located about 100m from the junction No. 89, so it is easy to find. In Holtland there is a fully functioning Dutch windmill, here you can visit them on Sundays (May-Oct.) In the mill café and climb up to the mill gallery. A visit to the water park uses exhibits and information boards to provide information on all aspects of drinking water and the history and technology of water supply.   The holiday region Hesel has an early settlement history, you can visit the archaeological exhibition. The next largest shopping cities are Leer and Aurich. In Leer we have a museum of local history, a tea museum as well as the museum harbor with historical ships and harbor cruises. Worthwhile is also the old town of Leer and the Leeraner Miniaturland, there are on 1,200 m² Ostfriesland, from the inland, coast and the islands, all in miniature format.  During the year there is a lot going on in and around the region: some highlights would be the summer festival on Gut Stikelkamp, the harvest festival (Sept / Oct) in Hesel, the biggest fair of Gallimarkt (mid oct.) And the Tourenskippertreffen in Leer, Ship crossings of the luxury liner of the Meyer shipyard, park of the gardens to visit and / or to events, here and there small museums, etc ....

Apartment Mientje:
Moin and welcome to the apartment Mientje. The apartment Mientje was renovated in 2017 and lovingly and comfortably furnished for you (70 m² for 2 persons). More than 100 years ago, the house was built by Mientje and Ülderk Klock, the grandparents of today's owner. Only the gable with its typical arched windows was preserved and restored. Everything else was rebuilt several times and so was the apartment Mientje. The apartment Mientje has a sep. Entrance and from the hallway access to the living-dining area and to the bathroom or  sep. WC. The kitchen equipment (stove, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, egg cooker, blender and hand mixer) as well as crockery and cutlery will make cooking easier. You can enjoy the food and drinks in the adjacent dining area.   The living room with 3er, -2er Sitzgarnitur and armchair, crockery and bookcase, television (satellite reception) and original chair of Mientje, invite you to linger. You can use the Internet in the entire living area via Wi-Fi, but it is not until the end of 2018, at the beginning of 2019 that the switch to fiber optics will take place, which will make faster access possible. In the adjoining bedroom is a double bed (1.80 x 2.00 m). There is also a mirrored wardrobe and a small table with 2 chairs. A luggage rack completes the area. For emergencies there is an extra bed (0.80 x 1.80 m) available. In the bathroom is a bathtub or Shower (90 X 90 cm). Hair dryers and curling irons are also provided. The rooms are not wallpapered, but lovingly designed with an old painting technique. A terrace, equipped with table, 2 chairs and a bench, can be completed with a parasol and barbecue on request. Here is also the area for smokers. Washing machine and dryer use on request for a fee (à 4,00 EUR) possible (utility room is outside the apartment). In order to be mobile for larger or smaller excursions, we also offer bicycles.

Arrivals are possible from 14:00 to 19:00 and departures from 07:00 to 10:00.
