It began in 1813 with the permission of the Grand Duke of Oldenburg in Oldenburg and the then sovereign, the Danish king Frederik 7th, also Duke of Holstein, to set up a bathing facility in Haffkrug. Haffkrug, today a district of Scharbeutz, lies with its long sandy beach in the heart of the Bay of Lübeck. Holstein Switzerland, as well as the queen of the Hanseatic League Lübeck, can be reached quickly. Look forward to a varied landscape and surroundings.
