THE VILLAGE CASTELLABATE
Is a few minutes walk from the CASA ALTA, high up on the mountain top and impresses with its medieval CHARM as well as the narrow streets (VIUZZE), stairways and il Castello (CASTLE). It also offers great views of the small fishing village of S. Maria, which lies between Punta Licosa (peninsula) and Punta Tresino. From S. Maria go to both sides of miles of sandy beaches to the next harbor village S. Marco, from.
In summer a ship connects S. Marco with the famous islands of Capri, Ischia and with Salerno & Napoli.
THE BEACH
The nearest bathing beach is less than a 10-minute drive away and a 15-minute walk away. Between St. Maria and San Marco stretches the relaxation mile: the Pozillo beach with fine sand and gently sloping shores. There are small beach bars, sun loungers, parasols and a good offer for water sports enthusiasts. Those who prefer peace and quiet go on a discovery tour and look for a romantic pebble bay at Punta Licosa or a sheltered spot along the sandy beach on the southern Cilento coast. Thanks to the nature reserve, the sea has excellent water quality and has been regularly awarded the "Bandiera Blu" for many years, a seal of approval for excellent bathing beaches.

NATURE
The coast in the west and the Vallo di Diano in the east limit the Cilento National Park, which has been protected since 1991. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998. The national park covers 18,000 hectares with 105 km of coastline with small fishing villages that have long been discovered by tourism. In the mountain villages in the hinterland, however, the time is somewhat slower. With its quite high mountain peaks - the highest is the Monte Cervati with 1898 hm - its gorges, medieval mountain villages and modern coastal towns, the Cilento offers a varied landscape for every explorer. The logo of the national park is the Palinuro primrose, which is under nature protection and testifies to the rich diversity of plants in the region. It is best to trudge through the olive and chestnut groves on the mountain peaks with your hiking boots and enjoy the gigantic views. Flower lovers can best admire the Mediterranean flora here in spring. The hilly hinterland and the winding coastal roads tempt you to rush through the Cilento with your racing bike. The varied landscape can also be enjoyed on horseback and on mountain bikes on tracking trails.

S. Maria di Castellabate è un piccolo paese di pescatori nel Cilento, Campania region, conosciuto per le spiagge bellissime e il corso con una grande varietà di negozi e ristoranti (vedi film: Benvenuti al Sud). Non lontano dall'appartamento si trova il paese mediovale di Castellabate.
L'appartamento è perfetto per fare delle escursioni giornaliere a Capri, Ischia, Costiera Amalfitana, ecc.

S. Maria di Castellabate is a southern Italian village. The little village is known for its wonderful beaches, the promenade with lot of shopping possibilites, various restaurants and tipical building.
Not far from the building you'll find the little medieval town of Castellabate.
The apartment is perfectly situated for excursions to well known places like the Islands of Capri and Ischia or the ancient Roman town-city Pompeii and the Amalfi coast.
