The place fir is 500 meters above sea level, is surrounded by forest and about 15 km from the Brocken. The largest ski area in the Harz Braunlage / Wurmberg can be reached at 9 km. Cross-country skiing are possible from the house or in Schierke (12 km). The famous cities of Goslar, Wernigerode, Quedlinburg, Thale is only a few minutes away by car. Restaurants, a bakery and an ice cream parlor are in place. Directly at the house is a spring (Hunter Born), which flows into the Bode.
