Chiado is the trendiest neighborhood in Lisbon. Design and luxury products stores, century-old theaters, churches, buildings of architectural value, legendary cafes, century-old bookstores. XVIII, museums ... all in one place. And the epitome of Chiado is Garrett street, where the Apartment is located. In the same apartment building, on the ground floor, is the Bertrand bookstore, founded in 1732 and considered the oldest bookstore in the Guinness Book. Across the street, Café A Brasileira, more than 100 years old, was once a meeting place for writers, artists and journalists. The writer Fernando Pessoa is immortalized in a bronze sculpture on the outside terrace.
The nightlife is 4 blocks away, the so-called Bairro Alto, and is an ideal distance to enjoy the nightlife with a walking tour, while ensuring a quiet night's sleep.
The Chiado area invites you to stroll on foot, to discover all it has to offer, through streets and alleys. Contiguous to Chiado is Baixa Pombalina, the historical area of the city with all its many monuments, churches, statues, museums and a whole world of history and stories.
A few meters from the apartment you will find the Chiado Metro Station.
The Cais do Sodré Train Station, next to the Tagus River, is accessible by Metro or a good walk. There are regular trains between the Lisbon - Cascais line, on a pleasant journey and almost always along the Tejo and Mar River, lasting approximately 30 minutes. From Cascais, there are regular buses to Sintra - World Heritage of Unesco - passing by the Cape of Rock - Westernmost point in Europe.
