Situated at the top of a huge cliff, the medieval village of Marvão offers visitors a breathtaking and varied landscape stretching from Spain to Serra da Estrela. To paraphrase José Saramago "From Marvão we see the whole earth ...".

Entering the village through the Portas de Ródão and looking in front on the right, the visitor comes across the Casa da Silveirinha. Framed, on one side, by the fragas that lead to the Castle and, on the other, by the immensity of the surrounding landscape, the House provides to those who rest there the sensation of going back in time and becoming guardian of the entrance in the village.
