About This Property

Casa Panchita is situated at 524 m over the sea level, in Villa de Garafía. This municipality gives its name to a new planet called “Garafía”, discovered in 2006 from the Observatory of Roque de Los Muchachos. The island of La Palma, in fact, has been recently declared by the UNESCO a World Reserve of the Biosphere. 2400 m further up the top of the island, EL Roque de Los Muchachos, gathers the most important sky Observatory of the Northern Hemisphere: a complex of international telescopes. You can visit the place by car and admire a neat clean sky from the border of La Caldera de Taburiente, a big natural depresion full of impresive views. There is also in the nearby of Cueva de Agua a starting point of many walles and routes ideal for ramblers. That’s where the famous animal fair of San Antonio takes place in mid-June. Cattle, sheeps, goats and the local “Garafiano Shepherd” dogs gather in a well organized fair to honour the patron of all animals, San Antonio, on the 13th June. Another attraction is the coast line, some 4 km from the house, full of cliffs and bays very much worth visiting.
