From the Norman Castle of Aci Castello you can also admire the Faraglioni of Acitrezza, picturesque rocks that according to legend, were thrown by Polyphemus to Ulysses during his escape. Geologically they are evidence of the oldest volcanic activity of Etna, which took place about half a million years ago.
