Built on the Corchinas plateau, in a spectacular landscape, according to the Roman historian Livy, it was the center of the anti-Roman revolt of 215 BC, where the remains of the early Christian complex now lie. Wild asparagus in March, sweet medlars (nespole) in April and May, olives, black, white, and Indian figs in September, grapes in abundance from August to October and pomegranates in November, lemons and oranges year-round. Dine at the fabulous Mamacita Cafe and Pizzeria, literally overlooking the villa. Very child-friendly, it features a large play area. Here, you can savor traditional Sardinian cuisine while enjoying live music and entertainment. There's a local bakery, several grocery stores, bars, a general hardware store selling household items, and a beachwear/sportswear store, all in the nearby village near Santa Caterina Bay. You can go cycling, enjoy water sports, fish (no license required), and climb at the nearby Santa Caterina climbing gym, Falesia. You can also visit the Menhir nightclub, open during the summer months, or just a 10-minute drive away.
