Villa Calalume is an elegant and welcoming two-story independent house dating back to the sixteenth century. It sleeps ten people. It is approximately 400 square meters (4300 square feet). It features a private swimming pool, a private terrace, two private patios, a private garden, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed), winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.
You will be in the heart of Muro Leccese, where you will find restaurants, shops and public transportation. You will find the closest restaurant at 300 meters (990 feet), a grocery store at 250 meters (820 feet), the bus stop at 350 meters (1150 feet) and the closest beach (Dei Gradoni beach) at 16 km (roughly 10 miles).
You will reach Villa Calalume from the main entrance of the building going up approximately five stairway steps.
For a successful stay at Villa Calalume we recommend having a car. You will be able to park it free of charge or for a fee, along the public roads (the actual distance might vary depending on the availability of parking spaces).

This house is adjacent to another rental property, Villa Calaconte. The two can be connected through their gardens by a door that can be opened if needed, making them very convenient for large groups or family reunions.
Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is 2.5 meters (8 feet) large by 15 meters (50 feet) long, 1.6 meters (5.2 feet) deep. The area is equipped with a table, two deck chairs and sun loungers, and it is partly shaded by tall trees. From the swimming pool you will enjoy a charming view of the greenery and of the other buildings. The pool is open all year round, although it is not heated.
Patio 1
The first patio is 55 square meters (590 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by a characteristic pergola with a bamboo roof. It is equipped with a table and chairs. Here you will also find a portable barbecue. From the patio you will enjoy a broad view of the garden.
Patio 2
The second patio is 25 square meters (270 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by a characteristic pergola with a bamboo roof. It is equipped with two armchairs. From the patio you will enjoy a broad view of the garden.
Garden
The garden is 500 square meters (5380 square feet). It is partly shaded by trees. The garden is equipped with two armchairs, as well as with an hammock. From the garden you will enjoy a lovely view of the greenery and of the swimming pool.
Ground FloorLiving Room 1
You will be able to enter the first living room from the inner court of the building through an external access. The ceiling is vaulted. The furnishings are classic and welcoming, and include three sofas and armchairs. There is a big and age-old fireplace. In this room you will find a satellite television (local channels). From the living room you will be able to enter the inner court through two French doors. The room also has two small high windows. It is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Dining Room
You will be able to enter the dining room from the first patio or from the second patio through an external access. The furnishings are cozy and comfortable, and include suspended chandeliers. The dining table can accommodate 12 guests. The room is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Kitchen
You will be able to enter the kitchen from the dining room through an access area. The ceiling of the kitchen is vaulted. It is equipped with a six-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, an Italian-style coffee-maker and a kettle. Here you will also find a washing machine (hidden in a utility room), an iron and an ironing board. The dining table can accommodate six guests. From the kitchen a French door will take you to the first patio. The kitchen is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Bedroom 1 with en-suite bathroom
You will be able to enter the first bedroom from the first patio through an external access. The bedroom has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/63 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). The furnishings include a desk. In this room you will find a television (local channels). The room also has a window, and it's equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a shower and a hairdryer.
Bedroom 2
You will be able to enter the second bedroom from the first bedroom or from the inner court through an external access. It has two twin beds (80 cm/32 inches). In this room you will find a television (local channels). The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Half bath
The half-bath is equipped with a washbasin and a toilet. You will be able to enter it from the kitchen.
First FloorTerrace
The terrace is 15 square meters (160 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by a characteristic pergola. It is equipped with two deck chairs. From the terrace you will enjoy a lovely view of the greenery and of the other buildings.
Living Room 2
The second living room is paved with stone tiles. The ceiling is vaulted. The furnishings are classic and welcoming, and include two sofas, two armchairs and a desk. There is an age-old fireplace made of stone, for decorative purposes only. From the living room you will be able to enter the terrace through a French door.
Bedroom 3
You will be able to enter the third bedroom from the second living room. The bedroom has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/63 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). An additional single bed (80 cm/32 inches) is available (if requested in advance with an additional cost -- please enquire with our staff) to make it a triple room. The furnishings include two bedroom chairs. In this room you will find a television (local channels). The room has a Juliet balcony, and it's equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Bedroom 4
You will be able to enter the fourth bedroom from the corridor. The bedroom has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/63 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). In this room you will find a television (local channels). The room has a Juliet balcony, and it's equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Bedroom 5
You will be able to enter the fifth bedroom from the corridor. It has two twin beds (80 cm/32 inches). The room has a window, and it's equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Bathroom 1
The first bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a shower and a hairdryer. You will be able to enter the bathroom from the second living room.
Bathroom 2
The second bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a shower and a hairdryer. You will be able to enter the bathroom through a corridor, climbing four steps.
