The Naviglio Pavese is the realization of a dream, lasting almost five centuries, of a direct connection between Pavia and Milan. It was the Visconti, in 1359, who started the work for the construction of a canal that was initially not navigable, but very useful for maintaining the splendor of the park of the Castle of Pavia where Gian Galeazzo loved to ride. In the second half of the 1500s, under the Spanish domination, Giuseppe Meda's plan was approved, but the work was soon suspended. Two hundred years later they are taken up by Napoleon. On August 16, 1819 Ranieri, Archduke of Austria and Viceroy of Lombardy-Veneto, inaugurated the Naviglio Pavese, which from the dock passing through Binasco and Pavia flows into Ticino. Today the area is renowned for pleasant bike rides along the cycle path with the possibility of reaching the South Milan Agricultural Park with its country farmhouses and farmhouses! Assago / MilanoFiori is less than 4km away, on the Forum home to famous concerts and shows!
