Beaches and amenities: The beaches of Salis and Ponteil 50 m across the road from the apartment are sandy and safe beaches with beautiful views when dipping in the warm Mediterranean sea. There are fantastic coastal walks to be taken from the apartment round Cap d'Antibes, a walk up the hill to the lighthouse and chapel must not be missed.
Juan les Pins is also a lively area, just across the other side of the Cap, 5 minutes drive from the apartment/ 15 minutes walk. Famous for its Jazz Festival, boutiques and beaches. During the evenings Juan les Pins turns into a buzzing place, street entertainers, restaurants, ice-cream parlours and late night clubs and casinos.
Excellent bistros, cafes & bars of Antibes are all within 5-10 min walking distance and only a 15 min walk to Juan les Pins for excellent nightlife. The renowned Picasso museum and cathedral are a short stroll away along the old town walls and the famous daily Provençale market.
Antibes: Antibes is known for its yacht marina, the largest in Europe, with its International Quay, which is home to some of the biggest ’Megayachts’ in the World, its Provencal market, Picasso museum and medieval Ramparts. The Provencal fresh produce market runs every day in the summer and is not to be missed. In the evenings it turns into an outdoor restaurant scene, sharing the space with local artists’ stalls. Just behind the market is Antibes’s Cathedral, the setting for outdoor concerts in the summer months. The Old Town is full of lovely cobbled shopping streets, pavement cafes and countless restaurants to choose from. Thursdays is market day in the Old Town with thousands of stalls spread all over, selling anything from bikinis to spices. On Saturdays, Place National is the setting for an Antiques market. Nearby Juan-les-Pins is a buzzing resort with a casino, modern boutiques and sandy beaches.
Cote d'Azur: There is much local history to be discovered walking through the old streets of Antibes. Wonderful old stone buildings, food markets, Bric-a-brac and clothes markets galore. If you want to explore further afield, the train station in Antibes takes you west along the coast to Cannes, with the designer shops and where the famous film festival takes place. Or take a train to hillside town of Grasse, famous for its perfume. East on the train will take you to Monaco and across the border into Italy, less than an hour away. Great for a day trip. Perfect spot to access the rest of the Cote d'Azur (Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo, Eze, and the Italian Riviera.
For ski enthusiasts the Alpes Maritimes boasts several ski resorts such as Isola 2000, Auron , Valberg and across the border in Italy is Limone which is easily accessible by train.
There are several golf courses within a half hour drive from Antibes - Royal Mougins, Cannes Mougins, La Grande Bastide, Saint Donat and Biot to mention a few.
