Private vacation home
About This Property
The plot is situated in Plaka, a coastal area on Naxos Island, with west exposure. Compare to the rest of Cyclades, human intervention is minimal on the landscape.
Just 1,300 feet from the beautiful Plaka beach, a 54,000 square feet olive grove embraces the two-layer residence. On the ground floor, a traditional arcade and 5 descending steps separate the living room from the kitchen area. On the first floor, are the bedrooms, each with its own separate bathroom.
The baths are constructed with cement mortar and the marble bathroom sinks are made by a sculptor from Tinos island.
On the lower level, the independent guest house has a sitting room with built-in sofas, a kitchen and a bedroom with separate bathroom.
The large verandas have successive pergola structures which filter the intense Cycladic light.
One of the main characteristics of the residence is the ceiling height of the inside spaces. The chestnut wood lined ceiling served as mold for concrete casting during construction .
The plot is surrounded by a high stone-built wall.
