In years gone by, the villa which was once a byzantine castle and was then owned by the Vatican and used to house monks from the local monastery. There are 4 villa/apartments which are ideal Ideal for walking and cycling, the area is home to many fine restaurants, with truffles and mushrooms being a local speciality, along with delicious Tuscan wines. The encircling mountains and forests have inspired the three greatest artists of the Renaissance and remain largely unspoiled today.
Wild boar, deer and porcupines are regularly seen on the grounds.
