Cottage

Casa do Avo is a three bedroom cottage situated in a very calm area in Arco da Calheta. A traditional cottage in the hills of Madeira. This is a house where you are one with nature in a little village up in the hills. The e nearest beaches (Madalena do Mar or Calheta) are only in only 15 minutes by car but this house is most special for being close to the Levadas
Casa do Avo, which means, grandfathers house is close to the network of streets that go to Porto Moniz from the hills, Fanal and Encomeada.

Just 5 minutes drive down is a nearby small markets, restaurants and bars were you can taste the famous Poncha of Madeira.
On the cooler days you can light up the kitchen fire place so as to heat up the kitchen. A Salamadra is also installed so that the rooms are all heated.


Depending on the time you visit us you can assist to religious celebrations or to various events on the island, like Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Carnival, Flower Party...
