A car is not necessary you can use public transport to most places. Handy bus from Rome. Perugia airport is just a 50 mins drive. We can arrange pick up for a small fee if you do not want to drive.
Cooking course provided on request.
We can arrange for wine tasting in a local agriturismo that makes wine in Arezzo. 15 euros per head with snacks.
The large open plan sitting room has high ceilings and four very comfortable sofas, stereo, tv (english news channels only) and a very wide selection of English DVDs and books. It leads into to the dining room with its seating for six people and a cosy fireplace, where you can roast meat or chestnuts. An extra double sofabed is nearby for more guests/children. We have just added another single sofa bed. An extensive selection of books, guides and maps is on hand.
A solid oak custom-made staircase leads to the mezzanine (gallery) bedroom with built-in wardrobes and plenty of cupboard space, queen size bed (160 x2metres or 63 inches wide by 79 inches long) and a computer with 24 hr internet access/wifi. Please note there are stairs to the bedrooms so if you need the bathroom during night and have mobility problems this could be an issue. The kitchen is fully equipped with a 4 ring electric stove, new oven and large fridge-freezer, microwave. As well as a kettle, toaster, American coffee maker you’ll find everything you need for your first night (milk, coffee, cereals, pasta, wine etc). There is a shower room and small bathroom (with toliet and sink) on the ground floor. The bedroom is a galleried bedroom reached by a few stairs (10 steps or so). We are happy to do any required shopping for you before your arrival. Can also take guests without a car to nearby supermarket. Utility room nearby where you can use the washing machine, ironing board etc.
The apartment is in the heart of Sansepolcro, literally two minutes ON FOOT from the historic centre and all its many excellent and affordable restaurants, shops and bars. The town is famous for the Renaissance artist Piero della Francesca. The apartment is within a few minutes of the museum, supermarkets, pool. The second Sunday of September sees a wonderful crossbow competition which has taken place since 1585 and is preceeded by a week of festivities, flag-waving and medieval pagaentry. The town is surrounded by rolling countryside and gentle hills great for walking and trekking. The riber Tiber is 2 kilometres away and walking or cycling along the banks is delight. Trout fishing possible in the nearby lake. MOUNTAIN BIKE HIRE WITH GUIDES AND DAY TRIPS ARRANGED. We can also provide you with a mobile phone with Italian number on request at no extra charge (we need to know a few weeks beforehand).
