Spain is 10 mins by car and Seville 90 minutes.The glorious River Guadiana and its valley is close by and a drive north takes you to the small towns, vineyards & cork oaks of the Alentejo. Monte Gordo with its lively nightlife and casino is on the nearby coast.
The villa is very well situated for those wishing to explore; or you may prefer to laze by the solar heated pool, re-tiled with new lights winter 2020/21, and to soak up the views from the various terraces, or shaded decking area where the main BBQ is placed. It is surrounded by open countryside, and is well distanced from other properties and people, perhaps relevant during Covid concerns.
The salt marshes around Castro Marim are renowned for birdwatching. As for golf, the closest courses, in order of expense, are Castro Marim, (5km),with 27 holes, Quinta do Vale, designed by Seve Ballasteros, (7km), and Monte Rei designed by Jack Nicklaus, (8km). Others within a 30 minute drive include Quinta da Ria, Quinta da Cima and Benamor. There are several more over the border in Spain.
