Maison Bidas is a charming, rural, two bedroom self-catering gîte tucked away in the Landes in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region of South West France. Set in the grounds of the owners farmstead surrounded by 9 hectares of vineyards, corn and meadows, Maison Bidas offers an idyllic retreat where you can truly unwind and take in the beautiful French countryside yet superbly located within a 5 minute drive of the local, outdoor swimming pool and amenities and within an hours drive of local beaches, the Pyrenees mountains and Spain. A warm welcome awaits with privacy assured.

Nestled within the original farmhouse building dating back hundreds of years, Maison Bidas has been lovingly renovated to a high standard retaining its original features which gives it its rustic charm and character. The barn comfortably blends old and new with its original oak beams to the spacious walk-in Italian shower to offer a traditional yet well appointed home from home.

With a double height ceiling and decorative mezzanine level, the open plan living dining area is light and airy, enjoying the morning sun which beams in through the large glass door. The living space opens out onto the walled terrace, which is fully equipped with outdoor furniture and BBQ, ideal for those lovely long lunches in the sun or a relaxed evening meal cooked outside. The large garden is surrounded by vines and perfect either for relaxing or enough room for a great game of football.

Inside Maison Bidas, the living dining area includes a large corner sofa (which can open into a sofa bed to accommodate up to two additional guests) with flat screen wall mounted TV. The dining table seats up to six people with a well-equipped fitted kitchen including dishwasher, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and Nespresso machine. The washing machine is located in the hallway cupboard. We also have a long list of nursery items available upon request.

The sleeping accommodation comprises one double bedroom with a king size bed and one twin bedroom with two single beds (which can also be made into a super king size bed if required) both with luxurious Egyptian Cotton sheets. The bedrooms have reading lights, a set of drawers and ample wardrobe hanging space. The bathroom, complete with complimentary toiletries, has a walk-in double Italian shower and separate toilet.

Maison Bidas is a 5 minute drive from the pretty village of Pouillon. It’s a busy little hive of activity with everything you would expect from fresh bread and croissants at the bakeries to simply soaking up the atmosphere in the central square café. The local Landaise restaurant offers up some heavenly gastronomic delights which are not to be missed. There’s also a supermarket with a petrol station, banks and a chemist.
