Situated in the countryside with views of the Tuscan and Umbrian hills and the medieval towns of Monteleone and Montegabbione. Easy distance to shops and supermarkets.
We have other 4 apartments available to rent in the main casale by the pool - 2 on the ground floor and 2 on the first floor.
We are working organic farm producing organic extra virgin olive oil, vine and saffron. We offer free seasonal organic fruits and vegetable as available from the garden. Fresh eggs daily from fee range chickens.
Special cooking evenings: Those who enjoy making and eating Italian specialties is welcome to join us on the special cooking evenings:
- making pizza in the stone oven
- making fresh pasta
- enjoy special saffron recipes
What to do and see in the local area: Enjoy visiting nearby medieval hilltops towns and admire the work of many renaissance Italian artists. Visit La Scarzuola - The Ideal City created by Italian Architect Tomaso Buzzi on the ground of a 13th century Franciscan convent. Visit chocolate and sweet factory where famous Baci are made. Trips to the local caves Tane del Diavolo can be arranged. Enjoy Thermal spa in San Casciano dei Bagni which offers hot water thermal pool, hydro massages, sauna, Turkish bath and other exclusive treatments. Excellent tennis court in Monteleone only 7km away. Golf course 30 km away on the way to Perugia. Fishing in the nearby lake.
Walking paths: We are situated in a place great for walking. You can walk to Monte Arale and admire amazing views towards other medieval towns - Monteleone, Citta della Pieve and Parrano. If you like you walk even longer you can carry on to Greppolischieto – little medieval hamlet restored in the late 80s by Anna Fendi well known Italian fashion designer. Is a charming place and the view is fantastic. You can see Lake Trasimeno from there. If you happen to be there in late August and early September you can fill yourself with delicious blackberries. Other lovely walk is to Castel di Fiori. Is a good walk on the sunny days as you go mainly through the forest. Every year in August Castel di Fiori organise a week of Festa with food, dancing and stars watching. From there you can carry on your walk to Castellieri – enclosure turned to fortification since the bronze age and re-used in the Middle ages where some Roman tombs have also been found.
