Summary:

This incredible Tuscany castle offers the chance to enjoy a truly unique holiday in Tuscany. Sleeping up to 9 guests in 5 bedrooms and with 3.5 bedrooms, this is a chance to feel like you have stepped back in time whilst still enjoying 21st century comforts. The tower is the highest spire in the beautiful Casentino Valley of Tuscany and it is steeped in history. Once the ancient residence of the Guidi family, Dante himself once stayed here during his exile.



The Space:

Inside, accommodation in this Tuscany castle is arranged over several floors. Monumental rooms with original fireplaces, exposed beams and inlaid carpets take guests to another world. There is an elevator for your comfort.



There are five bedrooms in total, four of which have double beds whilst one is furnished with a single bed. There are also 3.5 bathrooms. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious open plan living and dining area. This has a large wooden table, perfect for family meals indoors in the cooler months of the year. A mezzanine level is home to a library.



Two private terraces enjoy stunning views over the Casentino Valley below. This Tuscany castle is also surrounded by gardens full of irises, the perfect place to relax in the Summer. Alternatively, enjoy the short walk down to the River Arno where you can spend time on the riverbank and swim in the refreshing river waters to cool off.



The Neighborhood:

This Tuscany castle is located just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the charming Tuscan town of Stia. There are a number of restaurants, cafes and bars here. However, the owners of this Tuscany castle also own a superb restaurant within the estate. This is open for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday and for lunch on Sunday. Reservations are required since the chef sources fresh ingredients each day.



There is so much to see and do during your stay at this Tuscany castle. Some of our favourite things include the castles of Poppi and Romena and the church of Pieve di Romena. Also well worth a visit is the Camaldoli Monastery and La Verna Sanctuary. If you enjoy hiking, there are some wonderful walks in the area. Alternatively, if you prefer a faster pace on two wheels, we can recommend some great bike rides both in the forest and along the Arno River.



Florence, Siena, Arezzo and Assisi are also all easy day trips to enjoy. And we would recommend that you also make the time to explore the villages of Anghiari and Bibbiena which are both nearby.
