A peaceful, spacious, traditional house in the heart of Gastouri Village on Corfu where you can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares and enjoy the peace of village life. Directly across the street from the house is Ektora’s bakery where traditional bread is baked and sold daily. And just 400 meters (on foot) is the Tavern of the Olive (Taverna tis Elias) where you can savor classic dishes of the Corfian cuisine. If you are interested in some sightseeing, you can visit the museum of the Achillean Palace which is 700 meters from the house. For strolls, you can wander around the narrow lanes (cantons) of the village or stroll in the paths in the nearby woods. The city of Corfu is ten kilometers away and can be reached by bus. The bus stop is 110 meters from the house. The nearest beach is 4 kilometers away and so is Benitses, a charming town to have a drink or eat fresh fish. The house, a maisonette, is a classic example of Corfian architecture. The second floor can be reached by both an internal and external staircase. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room-dining room area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a small outdoor area where you can read or enjoy your coffee. On the second floor, there are two rooms with single beds, one room with a double bed, the bathroom, and the so-called “bondzo”, a small traditional balcony with a beautiful mountain view. Upon request, a cot can be set up for a fifth person. The living room has an air conditioner and the bedrooms have modern wall fans for the summer months and individual heaters for the winter months. There is also a private garden.
