Alfama is known as the oldest district of Lisbon and is rich in history and tradition. As a quiet and safe neighbourhood of Lisbon, Alfama is the perfect place to stay in order to visit the ancient parts of the city, listen to the celebrated Portuguese fado and get lost in the tiny roads that lead up to the popular São Jorge castle, which arguably offers the best view of Lisbon from above. The area also includes the celebrated Sé Cathedral, the National Pantheon and the Santo Antonio Church, which are all worth a visit.

Getting Around:
Bus stops at the door of the apartment. Terreiro do Paço metro station is a 15 minute walk away, as well as Rossio, another very famous square.
