Originally a hunting lodge for the bishops of Brignoles it later became a holiday home to aristocracy at the time of Queen Victoria who came to visit and planted the 132 year old pine tree in the formal gardens. It was later owned by the Compte du Chambrun who married the late Raine Spencer, stepmother to Princess Diana who visited with her sons while on holidays on the Cote d'Azur. The chateau remains secluded nestled amongst pristine hilltop gardens and terraces with views of the Esterel mountains and Mediterranean sea and has been lovingly restored in recent years.
