Pakoštanea traditional village in north Dalmatia with long tradition of hospitality and tourism. The location is beautiful, in the south of the small city Biograd. Pakoštane and the region is known for unique sand and rocky beaches, and near small islands. In the mainland behind the village there is the lake Vrana, an interesting park of nature with many opportunities for long walks and cycling.Since the port of the Roman city of Asseriaewas located near Pakoštan, the remains of summer residences and villas of rich Roman families from that era are still visible. The island of Vrgada, which you can visit by boat from Pakoštane, was mentioned by the Byzantine emperor Konstantin Profirogenet as a strategic location for monitoring the Adriatic Sea route of that time due to its unique position. Now on Vrgada you can find numerous beautiful beaches for sunbathing and swimming. In Vrana there are also the remains of Han Jusuf Mašković, built in the 17th century.Near Pakoštane is the Fun Park Biograd, a themed amusement park that provides a spectacular entertainment experience for the whole family in the heart of the Adriatic coast.
