The villa Sofa is built in warm honeyed limestone, and the old wooden shutters and ivy combine to create a wonderful building, full of character. Surrounded by mature shrubs, lush foliage and stone patios, it is easy to imagine you have stepped back in time. The swimming pool and outside barbecue area provide the perfect promise of fun filled days and evenings.
Step inside, through the old wooden doors into a delightful room laid with flagstones, old stone walls and a wonderful beamed ceiling. The beautiful stone fireplace has been used over many centuries. Throw open the wooden shutters and venture upstairs to the master bedroom and pinch yourself. What could be better than this?

Just a few minutes from the modern beach resorts of Maleme and Platanias, step back in time as you turn into the meandering lane that leads to the picturesque hamlet of Metochi, with a history dating back to the 1700’s, when Crete was still under Turkish rule. The tiny hamlet is laced with evocative stone walls surrounding centuries old buildings built in weathered limestone, with vine covered pergolas and lush gardens overflowing with jasmine and roses. It takes little imagination to evoke an atmosphere of yesteryear, whilst enjoying all the comforts of a relaxing luxury holiday.
Our villas 'Laina' and 'Sofas' – are both officially declared listed buildings, as traditional old mansions, dated back to the 18th century, entirely renovated in 2020-2021 and sympathetically restored to a level of luxury appreciated by the discerning traveler, seeking comfort in an environment which only an ancient building can provide. Each villa is totally independent, set within its own spacious and private stone walled courtyard garden with its private pool and private parking for both villas.
