The "Canava" can accommodate up to 4 people. It features a king-size bed, as well as two built-in sofas that convert into twin beds. Its 90 sq.m. satisfy all the needs of every modern traveller in the best and most personalized way. It is worth mentioning here that the space used to be an old canava (caved storage area), and the place where the bathroom is today -specifically the bathtub- was once the old wine press! The house has a huge open space, with a living room (here you’ll find the built-in sofas) and a dining room, while in the background it houses the bathroom with the impressive built-in bathtub and the bedroom.
The house is part of a complex of houses that share the unique pool garden as well as the rest of cacti garden and the beautiful terrace which overlooks the beautiful vineyards of Megalochori and Pyrgos.

The houses are connected by a welcoming area with the typical monastery table keeping you company all day long with local treats (here you’ll enjoy, among others, hot sourdough bread and homemade jams, as well as omelettes made of fresh eggs from the neighbour’s chicken coop!). The pool is the second connecting link with the garden that extends on two levels, looking like as if it’s taken out of a movie frame. Surely for a brief moment you’ll wonder if this is a village in Sicily… And emerging the pool, the built part of which is made of lava, and seeing the huge palm tree and the cacti around you, you might question yourself whether you are dreaming. Let us assure you, you are not. You’ve only just discovered your own paradise on earth in Santorini!

We call Hiraeth home, because that's what it is. It is not a villa nor yet another hotel that stands out for its design or aesthetics. Hiraeth was not meant to accommodate visitors from around the world. It was originally created as our personal shelter. The house we had always dreamed of…

You will find it in a privileged spot in the beautiful Megalochori, one of the island’s most picturesque villages. The airport and the port are only 10 minutes away by car, while Fira is no more than 15 minutes away. The village offers the beauty, the tranquillity and the access to what our visitors desire without feeling isolated since within walking distance there are remarkable restaurants, the Gavala winery, beaches and many more points of interest. At the same time, Hiraeth, regardless of its location, is a one-of-a-kind accommodation experience that you will not find anywhere else on the island.
What we intended for the traveller who turns up at our doorstep is to live a truly unique and personal accommodation experience. The pool, the fully equipped pergola and the garden on all levels serve both as a meeting place and a place for absolute privacy if you wish to. Our presence is discreet and our availability is unrestricted so you can count on our assistance any time of the day you may be in need of us.
