The iconic old grocery store of Pyrgos has been turned into a modern house for you to enjoy.


The Bakaliko is located in the heart of the island at the Medieval village of Pyrgos. Located in the iconic center of the village below the Venetian fortress. It is ideally placed just a short walk up from the mains square and very close to great restaurants and cafes. The Bakaliko boasts an impressive industrial look inside and throughout the interior. The character of the old store has been preserved with the large living room and fully equipped kitchen. The main bedroom is an incredibly relaxing white-washed cave. The impressive bathroom features a large shower with the characteristic blue stucco. An additional sleeping space with two single or one king size bed in the loft just above the living room but keep in mind that the low ceiling is part of its charm. The house also boasts a small balcony with an incredible view of the southern half of the island.

The Location
Pyrgos is a traditional medieval village that is built amphitheatrically on a hill and offers amazing views in all directions. It is very picturesque, with narrow labyrinth-like streets, a Venetian castle and countless churches, charming and capturing the hearts of visiting tourists and its permanent residents alike. It is one of the highest villages on the island and, at the same time one of the coolest on hot summer days. Pyrgos is situated almost in the center of the island, at a similar distance from the cosmopolitan capital, the port, the airport and the beautiful beaches of Perivolos, the Red Beach and Kamari. At a short walking distance, one can enjoy the wonderful view of the Caldera. There are a plethora of options for dining, whether you are looking for traditional or fine dining restaurants. Pyrgos is considered one of the most picturesque and least spoiled by tourism villages of Santorini
