A genuine rural retreat, Casa Campodonico is a large detached villa surrounded by woodland and the owner’s vineyards, offering lots of privacy for large multi-generational families or groups of friends. When it’s time to get out and about, the nearby historic town of Loro Ciuffenna, which straddles a deep ravine, has a charming medieval centre to explore. Be sure to take a stroll over the Roman bridge. Casa Campodonico is ideally situated halfway between the Renaissance cities Florence and Arezzo, in fact, the area's most famous ex-resident is Leonardo da Vinci. Perhaps that's why the surrounding countryside, formed by the famous Balze cliffs, is the backdrop of the Mona Lisa. This tranquil estate produces its own oil and wine. Wine tastings can be arranged on-site and the produce can be bought directly.

Back at the villa, which is set in vast mature gardens, with two furnished terraces and a covered poolside patio, there is an outdoor space for everyone, young or old. The large private pool will keep children happy, while adults can pull up a sun-lounger and watch on. Inside, large windows let the light flood in, helped by a partially open-plan design, and there are plenty of little corners to kick back in. The décor and furnishing throughout is stylish and downstairs rooms are spacious, also offering access to the two furnished terraces. Two of the upstairs bedrooms have their own small balconies, and others offer sweeping views of the countryside.
