Apartment
About This Property
The apartment is located on the upper floor of a detached house, directly situated on the river Zorge. This house has 2 bedrooms: the master bedroom with a double bed and a single bed in a niche, which can also be used as a wardrobe, and a smaller bedroom with two single beds. Bed linen and towels are included in the rental price. There is a spacious modern bathroom with sink, toilet, shower and hairdryer.
The connection from the bedrooms to the living room is formed by a fully equipped U-shaped hall kitchen, with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, 4-burner electric stove, combination microwave, oven, coffee machine, kettle and free coffee and tea facilities. Of course there are more than enough plates, bowls, cups, glasses, pans, oven dishes and cutlery available for the maximum occupancy of 7 people.
The spacious living room is divided into a dining area with a large dining table, a lounge area with a 55-inch TV with over 300 TV channels and Nintendo Wii, DVD and Bluetooth audio systems, a work desk with a computer and a play corner for the children. There are also plenty of board games and puzzles to keep you busy, and there is a small library with books in German, English and Dutch. The sofa in the living room also functions as a double sofa bed. And of course there is free high-speed WiFi available throughout the accommodation.
The Alte Schmiedemühle is located in the mountain village of Zorge, a picturesque village with mainly half-timbered houses, situated in the valley of the river Zorge (which flows right next to the house), encapsulated by the mountains on both sides of the valley. There is a local bakery and a few restaurants within walking distance and there are numerous hiking trails that start in the village. For public transport, the bus stop is just 10 metres away, and for warm summer days, the huge public village swimming pool, filled with natural spring water, is literally around the corner.
The greater Harz mountain region is ideal for walking, hiking, cycling and mountain biking in all seasons. Or visit one of the many castles, reservoirs, the Brockenberg, historic half-timbered towns, caves and other attractions. The ‘capital’ of the Harz, Braunlage, where there is always something going on and where, among other things, an ice rink and the famous Wurmberg are located, is just over a 10-minute drive away. In winter, the ski slopes and cross-country ski trails can be found in the neighbouring towns of Hohegeiss, Braunlage and Sankt Andreasberg, all within a 5 to 25-minute drive.
Whether you’re hiking in the summer or skiing in the winter, this apartment is your perfect home base for adventure and relaxation. Come and experience the beauty of the Harz!
When coming with a dog, please note that the apartment is only reachable via a outside staircase, so your dog needs to climb the stairs or be caried up.
