Apartment
About This Property
The photographs of the apartment offer a glimpse of the character of the Old House. The roof terrace with views over the town offers pleasant solitude with the expanse of starlit sky at night.
Bordering the town is the Ria Formosa, a unique maritime nature reserve where a variety of water birds can be observed at close range, including the beautiful flamingos strutting about in the marshland alongside the salt flats where traditional methods of harvesting are still adopted.
The short ferry ride takes one to the Island of Tavira which has been voted a Blue Flag beach with miles of soft dunes.
The colourful daily market a five-minute walk from the house is an enjoyment in itself with its display of fresh local produce and handicrafts, while the occasional artisan fair organised alongside the charming Bandstand Garden is an additional flair of the town.
The local museums, galleries and cinema are all worth a visit.
The "Fado com História" has regular performances of Fado which is distinctively Portuguese but also UNESCO's Intangible Heritage of Humanity, reflecting the experiences of the people and their history.
Its multitude of churches and the standing walls and towers of the former castle gives one a glimpse of its majestic past.
We would be happy to welcome you.
Please be reminded though that Portugal with its subtropical climate is home to insects, bugs and mosquitoes depending on the weather conditions and time of year. So the occasional uninvited little guests no matter how spotless the apartment, could well sometimes make an appearance.
