Only a 15-minute drive from Faro International Airport (FAO), this property is situated on the countryside hill of Pé do Cerro in the quaint village of Santa Bárbara de Nêxe. Perched on the hillside, the property offers privacy and breathtaking views of Estádio Algarve (Algarve Stadium) and the distant ocean by day, as well as the Algarve city lights by night. While you experience the traditional Portuguese setting and lifestyle, you can enjoy all the modern amenities of this house, including wireless internet, air conditioning throughout, clean and potable city water, a large tiled shower with both wand and rain shower heads, and comfortable beds. The property has been completely renovated in 2021, including the washroom, kitchen, and the replacement of all appliances and mattresses.
While the property is listed as sleeping 6 (2 in double bed, 2 in queen bed and 2 on sofa bed), the large queen bedroom has a professionally-built loft with a twin bed - suitable for a single adult or an older child/teen that can be trusted to safely climb up and down the solid wood ladder/stairs to access the loft space (please refer to the pictures).

If you are in the mood to explore, Casa Avozinha is in the Pé do Cerro neighborhood of the historic town of Santa Bárbara de Nêxe, and only 10 minutes from the larger town of Loulé, with its traditional weekly markets, fresh fish markets and local shops. You can browse the traditional markets in Loulé for produce, fish, bakery and textiles (among other traditional handicrafts and souveniers), but are only a short drive from the new modern Mar Shopping mall with a lively gourmet food court, large anchor stores like Ikea and Primark, and a modern grocery store, Pingo Doce.
Your location allows you to access many different beaches, water parks, golf courses, hiking trails and other attractions that are just 15 minutes to 1 hour away along the southern and western coasts of Portugal. If you're looking for a quick day trip to Spain, the city of Huelva is only a 1hr 10min drive away.
The small village of Santa Bárbara de Nêxe is home to beautiful chapels, a small convenience/grocery store (and Amazon-ES pickup location), and a handful of recommended local restaurants (including Marisqueira Arranca (seafood), Piazza (italian, mediterranean) and Alagoas (upscale seafood, mediterranean).
