The fattoria le pietre vive di montaperti is a true tuscan farm immersed in the peace and tranquillity of the tuscan countryside yet close to the main road systems and only 6 kilometres from the historic centre of the town of siena. Guests will have the use of a small apartment with independent access consisting of a cosy living room/esting area, with sofa-bed, a charming bedroom with a beautiful view, equipped with ample closet space and a comfortable canopy bed and private bathroom. Guests will also enjoy a very friendly welcome, the farm is suitable for families, children can play outside in complete safety and anyone who wants to spend a peaceful and relaxed holiday in the lovely countryside of the hills around siena.
We have all the advantages of the peace and beauty of the tuscan countryside at just 10 minutes drive from the historic centre of siena with all its attractions: restaurants and bars, fascinating medieval and renaissance squares and streets, monuments, museums and wonderful events such as the famous palio of siena.
The area of the farm itself is the site of a historic medieval battle in which the 'republic of siena” defeated the florentines and their allies in 1260, an event still celebrated today with re-enactments in costume and torch-lit processions
With my wife and children i live on and work the farm producing traditional organic crops and as we live on site we are always available and ready to assist our guests during their stay to help them get the most out of their vacation in this fascinating area of italy.
Breakfast is prepared with farm products such as pastries and fresh bread with home-made jam or maybe fresh tomatoes and our own olive oil.

On site on the ground floor of the farmhouse, in the old stables of the farm now furnished with elegant simplicity, is a lovely restaurant where it is possible to enjoy typical tuscan home cooking.
Also on site in the main farm house kitchen it is possible to book an authentic traditional italian cooking class where you can learn to make authentic italian dishes, such as fresh homemade pasta ( tagliatelle, tagliolini, pappardelle) or gnocchi di patate (potato dumplings), chicken nuggets with vin santo or with saffron or saltimbocca 'le pietre vive' etc. All made with our own local produce and accompanied by our own wine!
As well all the attractions of siena itself you can easily visit other famous art cities like florence, arezzo, perugia and even follow the footsteps of st francis in the ancient town of assisi or still more easily explore any of the delightful medieval tuscan hill towns nearby. You can even relax at one of the thermal spa resorts only 15 km. Or so away.
